Get Your Thumbs Ready!

This Friday marks a big milestone for the new album campaign:

The first single + music video release from An Ape’s Progress — finally!

On June 11, Opposable Thumb comes out as a music video on YouTube and an advance single on download / streaming services everywhere. I hope you like it!

Opposable Thumb was one of those “easy” songs to write — I wish they could all be like that! It flowed readily and felt good from the get-go, combining a bouncy little three-minute pop arrangement with a wry lyric poking jest at our species and its shortcomings. It’s always fun combining opposites like that during the songwriting process, and as you’ll see we had a blast making the video. I hope it gives you a smile and a chuckle!

Next up will be Proud American, releasing as a music video on the Fourth of July, and as the album’s second single a few days later on July 9. A bit deeper and darker than “Thumb,” I’m really proud of “Proud” — as it’s not only An Ape’s Progress’ opening track, but the album’s thematic center as well. And it rocks!
